The CIWM/WAMITAB continuing competence scheme is tested by Pearson Vue. To book your test you will need to use the online booking system which can be found at www.pearsonvue.com/wamitab. You will need a valid credit or debit card and will select the location, date and time of your test through the system.
Please note that you will only be booking the generic section of the test as you will have the opportunity to select up to three options on the day. The test options you will be required to take will depend on the area of competence you need to achieve for your waste site - contact your local Environment Agency or the visit the Which Test area of the website for guidance.
I’m a new user but the Pearson VUE booking system is asking for my WAMITAB ID – what should I do?
If you have not taken a Continuing Competence test with Pearson VUE before then you will not have a WAMITAB ID when you set up your account. In this case you should select “No, I don’t know my WAMITAB ID” to continue the process. If you are still experiencing problems, you will need to call Pearson VUE on 0161 855 7316 as WAMITAB does not issue this ID.
I’ve lost my Pearson VUE log in details – what should I do?
If you have lost your log in details since the last time you sat your Continuing Competence test you will need to click on the “Forgot my username” or “Forgot my password” links on the Pearson booking system. If you are still experiencing problems, you will need to call Pearson VUE on 0161 855 7316 as WAMITAB does not issue these log in details.
What do I do when I arrive at the test centre?
We ask that you arrive at the test centre 15 minutes before your scheduled appointment time. This will give you adequate time to complete the necessary sign-in procedures. Be prepared to show a valid form of personal identification that contains both a photo and a signature which would be either a modern driving license or passport - this table shows the ID accepted by Pearson VUE for WAMITAB exams:

|Primary ID||* A currently valid signed passport of any country containing the candidate's photograph and signature.

* Any valid ID containing the candidate's full name and signature (e.g. credit or debit card, paper driving licence).

IMPORTANT - PLEASE NOTE: From 1st January 2017 the WAMITAB ID Card will no longer be accepted as proof of identification for the Continuing Competence test.

How do I get a WAMITAB Competence Card after passing my test?
To obtain a WAMITAB Competence Card after successfully passing your test, complete this form and return it to WAMITAB with two passport size photos of yourself. We will produce the card at no cost to you and send it by return through the post.
